We traveled by dingy in the rain from Hope Town to Man-O-War Cay today. You have definitely heard of it-because that’s when On September 1, 2019 Hurricane Dorian made landfall with 185 mph winds. The catastrophic damage hit Man-O-War which was the island hit the hardest in the Abaco’s. On a family vacation in 2018 we had the pleasure of spending the day on Man-O-War visiting The Albury Ship Yard which lead Phil to buy an Albury 23″ for soon after that. We named boat. – “Hope Floats”. It’s an island that is built around the Albury family and boat building.

The rest of the day was uneventful. The rain allowed us to regroup and get ready for hopefully a great fishing day tomorrow for Parker, Phil and Ryan. Stand-bye! Will let you know more tomorrow night.

Albury Sail Shop is a 3 generation business on Man-O-War Cay that makes bags made from left over sail material. For over 60 years the bags are sewn with vintage sewing machines and the logo is recognizable from anyone who has been lucky enough to have visited the shop or received a bag as a gift. The only way to get one of these bags is by boat to Man-O-War or a gift because there is no online buying. They are a family rich in tradition.

As I type this post, I’m reminding myself how fortunate I am for this adventure. A little rain is not going to stop us from having fun. Now that we are a little more settled in, I am counting down the days (2) and hours 39 hrs until Morgan arrives. CAN’T WAIT.

Thank you again for following along & Good Night.
