Good bye for now, GTC.
As we say good bye to Green Turtle Cay for now, it’s time for our next stop- Hope Town/ Elbow Cay. It will take Beautiful Blue approximately 1hrs 45 minutes for us to get there. We will pass, Bakers Bay, Great Guana Cay, Scotland Cay and Man-O-War Cay before we arrive at Elbow Cay.

A few fun facts about Hope Town/Elbow Cay…..
Hope Town is the District of The Bahamas, Elbow Cay is the village. In 2010 the population on this island was 458 people. It is know for “Firefly Rum”, West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, aka – ” Candy – Striped Light House”, and shark sightings.

The lights house goes as far back to 1808. .

After Captain Ryan backed us into slip number 219 and Parker tied the lines tight – we took off in the dingy from the Hope Town Inn and Marina across the waters to Elbow Cay for lunch at Cap’n Jack’s. The chicken (fish) “In Da Bag” is a local favorite. I really enjoyed my lunch, not just because the food was delicious but- the view of the lighthouse and the harbour were awesome. Because the Abaco’s are about pristine beaches, laid-back vibe, excellent service and some of the friendliest people (locals and tourist), and can’t forget some the the most amazing fishing opportunities – we will continue to call The Abaco’s the best kept secret to good not to share. Dinner was at Bridgets Rum Bar at the marina. Delicious!

The Abaco Islands is a Way of Life with lots more adventures ahead. We are hoping tomorrow will be a little more sun and exploring. Keep following along. We are having a blast………
