NOT AS GLAMOURS OR EXCITING AS TRAVELING TO STUART ON BEAUTIFUL BLUE.
I am sure y’all are wondering why Teddy & I drove. Several reasons.
- I wasn’t ready to leave Tuesday – and It would have been a challenge to get everything together.
- They boat was going to run mostly in the ocean – and minimum 8 hours a day. Was not going to be a good situation for Ted.
- It’s nice to have car to get provisions – although we could uber or some smaller marina’s have courtesy cars.
- Most importantly- In order for Teddy to enter The Bahamas- he needed a few things. (A) Passport. It get issued from the vet. (B) Permit. A form you fill out along with proof of updated vaccines. (C) Photo (D) Dogs and cats have to be seen by the vet 48 hrs prior to arriving in The Bahamas. Yikes, that was almost a disastrous situation… Teddy’s vet was available at 2:00pm on Friday to see him. Now, See how he and I started our adventure.
We left Friday from Wrightsville Beach on Friday at 3:00pm. I had my list of pod cast ready and a few friends to chat with to help make the trip go by faster. My plan was to stop in St. Simmon Island, GA by 8:00pm with one stop. Well, the weather had different plans – Torrential down pour for 3 solid hours. Arrived at 9:45pm.

After a good night sleep- up early to head to Stuart hoping to get there around the same time as Beautiful Blue. ETA: 3:05pm. Luckily, Teddy is a great travel companion.

The Sidney Lanier Bridge – that goes from St. Simon Island to I-95.

Why not. Trying to impress Phil and Parker with a stop at the World of Golf Hall of Fame. Not!! Just a good place to go for a casual walk with Teddy to get both of us some exercise and fresh air.

Buc ee’s….. Excellent coffee. super duper clean restrooms. They actually got awarded ” Best Restrooms in America” who new there was such an award? Buc ee’s is the crazy place. If you have never been, I recommend it being a stop on any road trip. Where can you one stop shop for Brisket and Bbq sandwiches, tacos and biscuits for Breakfast lunch and dinner. There is a fudge bar, beef jerky bar and bakery that includes kolaches ( a Czech savory roll) snacks, drinks and my favorite: packaged fruit cups, vegetables and cheese and crackers. GIRL DINNER. You can’t just run in/out. A walk through the general store is a must. Even souvenirs for Teddy.

We arrived!! Safe Harbor Harborage Yacht club for the night. Such a nice place- with first class service and amenities. And Jim is the best. #1 dockhand. We will be back for sure. Glamours, Not so much. Fun fact: I asked myself, “Why was traffic so heavy with a lot of Harley Davidson Motorcycles”, Bike week in Daytona started today – March 10th.
Dinner tonight: Take out to eat on board Beautiful Blue
Vesuvio’s Pizzeria- 4.7 >>>>> Trip Advisor reviews were enough to convince us to give it a try. We are so glad we did – it was really good.
Can’t forget the stop to Whites Tackle. It’s a Fishermans paradise. Hopefully we will be able to raise a few fish flags during this trip. Wish Parker and Ryan luck.
That’s all for now. Standby for picture of Beautiful Blue arriving into the marina.
Good Night.
